In the heart of the wild jungle, a brave battalion of popcorn, led by the legendary Colonel Kernel, embarked on a top-secret mission. Armed with courage, they ventured into the unknown, expecting hardship and heroism in their travails through the dense foliage.

In the ongoing campaign for Scotia Cineplex, Milford continued on the successful path making adventures with a twist, featuring these fearless popcorns. This time the narratives took place in a jungle and on a beach that turned out to be something else.

Our challenge was to create a tonality in the scenes and acting that gave the impression you were witnessing a scene in an action movie. If we succeeded in this, the contrast would be greater when reality unfolded, and our storytelling would become more dynamic, allowing room for laughter at the realization that reality is not always what it seems to be.

In fact, it is not easy feat to match the level of acting displayed by the iconic action heroes we see on the silver screen. Especially when our action heroes are popcorn, confined by their attributes. Or is it?

For 10 years Milford has been telling stories with Kernel Colonel and his fearless gang.

Already from the beginning of the campaign, the idea was to transform popcorn into larger-than-life heroes who would act and speak like real action heroes. Since regular popcorns have limitations in expressing themselves and we couldn't find any popcorns that had appeared in action movies, we had to rely on our imagination to create these hilariously corny characters.

Drawing upon our expertise in the realm of character animation, we dug into the world of popcorn personification, infusing these kernels with vibrant personalities and genuine emotions that rival even the most seasoned actors. Our secret ingredient? Striking the delicate balance between whimsical charm and plausible popcorn realism, resulting in characters as believable as popcorn even if they're wearing red berets and headset.
