When UK agency Driven approached Milford to produce this wonderfully whimsical brand-film for credit-rating firm Totally Money, we jumped at the opportunity. How to create realistic, yet utterly fantastical dancing toads? Obviously this was a challenge we had to find our own way to approach.
The solution was to work in a mix of traditional keyframe animation - Milfords speciality after all - in combination with detailed filmed reference material. Over several days we worked out the choreography and filmed dancers (real, not toads) which then served as the base for our animators.
Through this approach we could use the realism of real-world dancing without losing the imagination and perfectionism that keyframe animation brings. The result? We'll let you be the judge. Let's just say we're toadally happy!
